Kauna’Oa – Mauna kea beach
Well, it’s been over a week since I’ve submitted anything, so here’s another one for your viewing pleasure. This is Kauna’oa beach in Mauna Kea, Hawaii. Mind you this isn’t the main beach where all the resorts are, but rather its next door neighbor. When I first visited this place years ago, I was a little disappointed to see a strip of hotels and resorts. But as time went on, I came to realize that this beach is enchanting in its own way.

This painting was done after I read a book about how to arrange flowers in Japanese-style. I really like the rustic feel of this painting because the materials used in the arrangement are not ordered, but instead just thrown together in an unsystematic way that echoes my own feeling when arranging flowers.
