Puaala (Euphorbia hirta), also called beach snow, is a coastal plant with leaves and stems adapted to resist the salty ocean wind. The leaves are succulent and bristly as shown in the close-up. The stems produce yellow, five-petaled flowers described as star shapes. This awesome art of Ikebana has an elegant simplicity that I quite love.

I really like the rustic feel of this painting because the materials used in the arrangement are not ordered, but instead just thrown together in an unsystematic way that echoes my own feeling when arranging flowers.
