The Ikebana series is an art project started by Japanese artist Maki Kawakita. She has been presenting her own versions of ‘Color Theory & Mona Lisa’ in which she paints over the original da Vinci’s masterpiece with traditional Japanese patterns. The result is absolutely stunning and breath-taking. Now, recently, she did the same thing but with the paintings of renowned Japanese Ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi.

Vector shell
The painting was finished several days ago, but I still think this is the best part of my current artworks. I used one of vector shells I made before; outlined and filled again by hand (and partialy painted with opacity). Actually it’s not very difficult to make it like that, but feels like I did something really new at last…
