There are two possible reasons why Misaki has chosen to paint flowers in oil painting format for this piece. One is that the artist wanted to portray the beauty of nature by using images related to flowers, while adding a slightly abstract feel to the pieces. Another reason is that by using flowers and plants, she was making reference to Buddhist funeral rites and Shinto ceremonies where people bring forth flower arrangements and other symbols of nature in order to symbolize various things for the deceased such as wishes for eternal peace, hope, and gratitude.
