The painting’s light comes from the right side of center, so I block in the shadow on the left with a dark red.
I start adding shadows to the background since it’s growing dark.
The painting is done for today.
I’ll work on highlights tomorrow.

Lake tahoe solo
This photo was taken on my solo art trip to lake tahoe for winter break. It rained the entire time which made everything extra beautiful. This is a photo of “Pine, Bamboo and Plum.” I liked how all the lines seem to meet at one point creating this perfect vortex.
Nevada highway
The painting shows the smooth Nevada highway overlooking the sunset from the side. The scene was painted on the spot where there is a pullout area. The desert sands and a cooling breeze is shown with a cloudy evening sky in this painting.
Lake Tahoe red sky #5
This work was inspired by the architecture of Japanese architect Tadao Ando. I have become a huge fan of his works after watching “A Vision of Japanese Gardens” and I would like to thank Mr.Ando for his wonderful creations which will guide my future designs as well.
